It’s been eight years since Desertfest boasted a designated prog stage, and truth be told, the advertised weekend of doom, stoner and sludge metal probably doesn’t rank too highly with many readers. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t proggy gems to be found here. Progressive music’s tentacles spread far and wide these days and, even if the prog massive aren’t in attendance, there are bands from our world making new friends galore at the event.
For the uninitiated, Desertfest is an annual weekender that takes place in various venues dotted around Camden, which attracts a wide variety of rock and metal bands, usually of the doom and stoner persuasion, but it occasionally features more interesting artists operating on the fringes as well.
