This isn’t a traditional prog festival. Portals will likely never try to book Rick Wakeman or Nektar, but every year this two-day event hosts some of the most fearless youngsters in modern music, now mostly grouped into the post-rock and math rock niches. Such an innovative stance on experimental sounds has seen this weekender grow exponentially, this year selling more tickets than ever before.
Upstairs, on the smaller of EartH’s two stages, Din Of Celestial Birds open everything using the type of music long associated with this festival: climactic, instrumental post-rock.
