Netherworld PECULIAR DOLL Northern Irish songwriter returns in a romantic mood. Four years on from her debut album Deep Blue, Louise Patricia Crane undertakes a musical metamorphosis. It seems a little early in the singer and multi-instrumentalist’s career for the artist to be reinventing herself, but Netherworld is a marked stylistic departure from its predecessor, swapping the alternative rock vibe of Deep Blue for a sound that draws more from celtic folk and Kate Bush’s idiosyncratic school of art-rock and prog. “It draws from Kate Bush’s idiosyncratic school of art-rock.” The album is produced by Crane and King Crimson’s Jakko Jakszyk, who also contributes guitar.
