“I think it’s a subconscious reaction to the world we’re living in,” says Tim Bowness as he ponders the inspiration behind Powder Dry, his new solo album, released on August 16 via Kscope, his first for the label.
“Generally speaking, albums either come from a deeply personal and isolated place or it’s when you’re almost open to what the world is saying to you,” continues the singer-songwriter, who’s also half of No-Man. “And I think that with the last two or three albums, there’s that sense that the world has become slightly more dangerous and slightly more menacing, whether it’s Ukraine, whether it’s Gaza, whether it’s just partisan political debate on social media.
