Rémi Gallego – aka The Algorithm – burst onto the scene with Polymorphic Code in 2012, one of the most original records of the decade. Fusing electronic, mathcore and prog, it was confrontational, dense and exciting. Three conceptual, tight LPs followed, but he struggled to truly recapture the magic of that first release.
Data Renaissance is a visceral return to form. It dispenses with some of the mathcore and djent timing tricks, instead leaning more into a fusion of metal and synthwave. This new direction works best on tracks like Interrupt Handler and Object Resurrection.
