Psych/prog veteran swaps the outer limits for MOR. One More Moment is the second album from Clive Bayley, a founding member of Chris Squire’s pre-Yes group Mabel Greer’s Toyshop, and multi-instrumentalist Max Hunt. It following 2020’s Whispers. Where Mabel Greer’s Toyshop were a product of 60s psychedelia, Affirm have a more modern sound that draws on prog and MOR. Bayley has an understated, unassuming vocal style that would be at home in a quiet folk setting and some songs would benefit from a little more welly from the singer. There’s a sense of romanticism evident in Who Am I? and in the spoken-word poetry of Flower Of Love.
