Wirtschaft Arbeit Technik CRAZYSANE RECORDS German duo Martin Mann and Enrico Semler unleash a riot of noise and energy on their debut. Wirtschaft Arbeit Technik – ‘Economy Work Technology’ in English – mixes psychedelia and garage rock, sprinkled with archive sound recordings, like the dial-up modem that intrudes upon Digital Bullshit World. When Jolle stretch out, as on the excellent Waster, they sound cosmic and trippy. But they never leave the planet behind, staying grounded in the mundane in Wirtschaft Arbeit Tod, or Economy Work Death, which hammers at the listener like an industrial press. The galloping Hier Leben is almost proto-punk, a vibe that fits the raw and unvarnished production, a wall of sound approach full of fuzzy guitars and Semler’s free-flowing, Keith Moon drumming.
