Peter Gabriel has broken the silence, with news of his first studio album of original material in 21 years. As Prog went to press there was no release date for i/o, but the first single, Panopticom, appeared on digital platforms on January 6. Further announcements are due to be made monthly, to coincide – fittingly – with the lunar cycle. Gabriel says that the single “is based on an idea I have been working on to initiate the creation of an infinitely expandable accessible data globe: The Panopticom. We are beginning to connect a like-minded group of people who might be able to bring this to life, to allow the world to see itself better and understand more of what’s really going on.” The pioneering British artist has told fans that…
