Post-rock is a healer. At its most basic level, it is music that enters the soul and pulls out whatever may ail you. And the right band stir that soul, finding a way to convince the listener that everything is going to be all right. Godspeed You! Black Emperor are one of those bands, and the capacity crowd filing into Chicago’s Salt Shed know this as they walk into the venue. Emotions need to be stirred, and this is just the band to do it.
