Through The Wave Of Blue (All Colour Arts) concerns a father’s response to his daughter’s serious illness and eventual recovery; a weighty theme borne by jazzy, ambient, trip-hoppy instrumentals of rare texture, and exquisite sound quality. Theo Travis, trumpeter Arve Henriksen and drummer Martyn Baker are among the elite players bringing Clemo’s rare vision to life. Dutch neo-prog octet Timelock happily re-formed in 2021 after an extended hiatus, and their sixth full album, Atomic Swap (Freia Music), is a rewarding, tune-laden listen with nods to Saga and 80s-era Marillion.
