Hic Sunt Moundrages DIONYSIAC RECORDS/MODULOR Demons and chickens and crimson kings – these are a few of their favourite things. Keyboard and drum-playing French brothers Colin and Camille Goellaen Duvivier file a guitar-free but muscular debut, drawing on cusp-of-the-70s psych rock and the work of prog’s founding fathers. Sonically, Hic Sunt Moundrages is dominated by Camille’s searing Hammond organ, driving the music forward with a Jon Lord-ly dynamism. Both brothers sing, often bringing to mind the ringing enunciation of a young Greg Lake, with the higher tones occasionally summoning Sparks’ Russell Mael and the plaintive, soaring harmonies of the fledgling Yes.
