The Forest Sessions KSCOPE Maverick guitarist reinterprets his acclaimed solo work live. Jonathan Hultén made his name as the guitarist and songwriter with Tribulation, a hissing metal band caked in corpse paint. But then his first solo album, 2020’s Chants From Another Place, repositioned him entirely. This wasn’t some occult battering, but instead a progressive psych/folk detour that was almost entirely acoustic – a change he enjoyed so much that he quit Tribulation shortly afterwards. Recorded live and released on CD and DVD, The Forest Sessions is the audiovisual sibling of his studio debut and fully realises the gothic beauty of its predecessor.
