Haavard PROPHECY Longtime Ulver collaborator reunites with one of his earliest loves: folk. Håvard Jørgensen emerged as part of the early 90s Norwegian black metal scene, initially as a member of Satyricon then as part of Ulver as they gradually transformed from snarling malcontents into one of music’s most ambitious and experimental bands. With the latter, he’s journeyed through metal, folk, industrial, post-rock and synthpop as both a full-time guitarist and, more latterly, an on-off auxiliary member. On his debut albumas Haavard, Haavard sequel Jørgensen has returned to the sparse folk soundscape of Ulver’s second album, Kveldssanger. It’s a medieval time capsule powered by acoustic guitars and gentle percussion, with the hypnotic Printemps quickly seducing with its soft arpeggios. Yet Jørgensen still finds plenty of spaces to warp the boundaries…
