“My life changed forever on the day I heard The Alan Parsons Project for the first time. At 13 years old I was into pop like Madonna and Howard Jones, and I went to the house of a mate whose parents had this massive hi-fi. When his mum put on Tales Of Mystery And Imagination it opened a door to a world I didn’t even know existed. I still remember the needle dropping onto the vinyl. This was rock music with orchestration and so many brilliant vocalists like John Miles and Colin Blunstone. At one point my mate turned off the light and I was absolutely terrified. From that point onwards I became a prog rock fan and an absolute Alan Parsons obsessive. With The Pineapple Thief I’ve lifted things…
