FLOYD BIOGRAPHER TAKES ON HIPGNOSIS IN NEW BOOK

A new book is on the way about Hipgnosis, the design group whose catalogue of classic album artwork includes Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon, Genesis’ The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway and many, many more. Us And Them: The Authorised Story Of Hipgnosis will be published in hardback on February 2 by Nine Eight Books. It’s written by Mark Blake, veteran music journalist and author of authoritative 2008 biography, Comfortably Numb: The Inside Story Of Pink Floyd. “[Hipgnosis co-founders] Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell had a fractious relationship,” Blake tells Prog, “a bit like that of David Gilmour and Roger Waters, both of whom talked to me for the book, along with Nick Mason, [Led Zeppelin’s] Jimmy Page and various members of 10cc, UFO and Genesis…
