Hello and welcome to the latest issue of Prog. It’s always weird writing the Editor’s Letter at this time of year. Given the magazine production schedule, it’s still early December, we haven’t even enjoyed the festive break yet, but Prog 146 is on sale on December 29. It really messes with your internal clock! Nothing weird about our cover stars this issue, though. In December 1982, I saw Marillion at two of their three Marquee Xmas gigs, along with support acts Solstice and Pendragon. A year later, Marillion had a Top 10 album under their belts and had appeared at Reading Festival, alongside the aforementioned, plus Pallas and Twelfth Night for good measure.
