Graphic horror from Italy’s movie maestro. The Eyes Of The Cat was a 1978 graphic novel created by cult Chilean author Alejandro Jodorowsky and French artist Jean ‘Moebius’ Giraud. The mastermind behind multiple classic Italian horror movie soundtracks, Fabio Frizzi has taken on the challenge of creating a fitting soundtrack. Fans of Frizzi’s past works – 1981’s astonishing score for Lucio Fulci’s The Beyond, in particular – will find plenty to be disarmed and then slightly disturbed by here. Opener The City is the sound of the Italian composer in his element; awash with synths and strings, and anchored by a foggy, electronic throb, it conjures an atmosphere of urban claustrophobia.
