FROM 1999 TO 2008, Californian quartet Zero Hour were one of progressive metal’s most vital forces. But despite masterpieces such as 2001’s The Towers Of Avarice, the band led by brothers Jasun and Troy Tipton (guitarist and bassist respectively) largely remained a cult concern. After the release of sixth album Dark Deceiver in 2008, they gradually vanished from view, as nerve injuries incurred by Troy Tipton put an end to his participation in what was always extremely technical, demanding music. Officially disbanded in 2013, Zero Hour appeared to be done.
