WHEN IANAI FIRST emerged into the world, the “band’s” members’ identities were secret. The enchanting, multi-instrumental, folky world music project was shrouded in mystery, led by an enigmatic figure named Trevenial, who was said to have come from “the other side of the veil”. But it’s hard to keep anything secret these days. “I’m done with the mystery!” laughs Jaani Peuhu, the real person behind IANAI. Peuhu is the vocalist of darkwave band Iconcrash, has played keyboards in Finnish heavy proggers Swallow The Sun, and is also a music producer.
