Virgil and Steve Howe’s first album together as a duo was Nexus, which came out in November 2017. Sadly Virgil didn’t live to read the many plaudits that followed. The talented, respected drummer and keyboardist died unexpectedly that September, aged just 41. Five years later, Steve Howe has sifted through his son’s musical archives and produced the 14-track follow-up, Lunar Mist, to be released through InsideOut on September 23. “After Nexus,” Howe tells Prog, “I thought maybe that was it, and we wouldn’t have any more resources for Virgil’s music. We had a track of his called Lunar Mist completely finished for a Japanese release, which never transpired.
