Asia’s career through the 90s and early 00s was marked by shifting line-ups, internecine strife and the occasional reunion between former members. But in 2006, after several false starts, the original line-up of Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Carl Palmer and John Wetton finally got back together. After touring, they eventually set to work on a new album, belatedly following the stunning success of their version of the band’s 1982 debut and the underrated 1983 follow-up, Alpha. And while the commercial success of that era proved impossible to replicate, it was creatively positive.
