A concept album based on the life of exiled Spanish artist Remedios Varo, Bordando El Manto Terrestre is a stunning collaboration between Maud The Moth (aka Spanish singer and multi-instrumentalist Amaya López-Carromero), dark ambient duo Trajedesaliva and Scottish producer Scott McLean. Sung in Spanish, this is a deeply moving and affecting set of songs that overcome the hurdle of language barrier by way of incredibly creative instrumentation and López-Carromero’s mesmerising voice. Varo’s art was informed by an interest in psychology, science and the occult, and the beguiling music contained here recreates and reflects those topics.
