VENUE UNDERGROUND ARTS, PHILADELPHIA, USA DATE 16/06/2024 SUPPORT THE KEENING, REZN Pallbearer outdid themselves with this year’s restrained and melodic Mind Burns Alive, so it’s not too surprising that they play almost the entire record, in conjunction with a handful of older songs, during this evening’s show. What’s more surprising, though, is just how much the two supporting acts (orchestral/dark folk ensemble The Keening and psychedelic/doom metal quartet Rezn) complement, if not surpass, what Pallbearer offer. It’s an exceptional combination that yields an extraordinary concert. During their stints, The Keening and Rezn prove they were the right choices to open the night. The Keening play about half of their evocative debut collection (2023’s Little Bird), with the symphonic/gothic gloominess of Autumn and the beautifully complex vocal puzzles of The Hunter II standing out most.…
