The Bedford’s regal, circular, galleried gig room seems apt for a line-up connecting branches of the British rock aristocracy family tree: Chas Cronk was a longtime member of prog progenitors Strawbs and has also performed with Rick Wakeman; Dave Bainbridge is a current member of contemporary symphonic powerhouse Lifesigns and a sometime one of the Strawbs, which explains the presence of Lifesigns’ mainman John Young (himself a Strawbs alumnus) in the audience. Bainbridge and Cronk are in veteran British rock luminary Colin Blunstone’s band and the latter also watches intently from the back of the room. Sally Minnear adds to the tapestry, being the daughter of Gentle Giant’s Kerry Minnear. Such talent and legacy in one place feels rather special. Kicking off…
