Based in Gateshead, Neon Burning are the wife/husband duo comprising acclaimed jazz singer Zoe Gilby and bassist/multitasker Andy Champion. Second album Living In Shadows (Lamplight Social Records) is a highly enjoyable and consummately made collection of fresh, intelligent and regularly inventive songs, with pop, art-rock, electronica and proggy aspects throughout. Gilby’s controlled, clear, unforced vocals are subtly sensational (such natural tone), with the power couple working in real harmony throughout. Exceedingly accomplished work.
