DARK STEVE HACKETT LPS MAKE THEIR VINYL DEBUT

Nineties titles Guitar Noir and Darktown on wax from June.

Two of the darker entries in Steve Hackett’s back catalogue will be available on vinyl for the first time from June 2 via InsideOut. Originally released in 1993, Guitar Noir was the guitar legend’s 10th solo record, a rich and atmospheric work that marked his return to the studio after a long period of silence. Coming six years later in 1999, Darktown was his 14th album, and features contributions from his flautist brother John, vocalist Jim Diamond and his now-regular collaborator, Roger King. “I’m thrilled these are being released on vinyl for the first time,” Hackett says. “My music took on a darker edge for both albums, and I explored additional sounds and genres I hadn’t touched before.” More at his website, www.hackettsongs.com.…
