Retro WHITE KNIGHT RECORDS Somerset songwriter follows up debut with conviction. Having trodden the boards as a jobbing musician for years, Bridgwater-based guitarist, bassist and sax player Andy Foster launched Kite Parade as a creative vehicle only last year, but he’s making up for lost time, following up his 2022 debut The Way Home with a similarly vibrant attempt to frame radio-friendly rock tunes in agreeably knotty prog-informed dressing. Sometimes the big choruses have a familiarity to them (like the Foo Fighters-esque title track, before a synth riff diverts the attention), or try a little too hard to get hands stretched out to heaven, with whiffs of a Christian rock urging the faithful to testify. The strength of the top-line melodies can’t be denied, though, allowing Foster to punctuate them…
