NEW TUNES FROM TORABI/WILEMAN

Heaven’s Sun is the latest artefact from the Karda Estra/The Utopia Strong linchpins.

Kavus Torabi and Richard Wileman will release their latest collaboration, Heaven’s Sun, on Torabi’s label Believers Roast on June 2. The pair have worked together occasionally over the past decade, with Torabi contributing to Wileman’s albums as Karda Estra – such as 2011’s New Worlds – and Wileman returning the favour on Torabi’s 2013 LP The Exquisite Corpse Game. The two songs on Heaven’s Sun – Particles Of Light and Derelict Creations – are the psychedelic combination of fresh material and reworked parts of music they’d previously made together. “We ended up with four songs, three other pieces and some other fragments,” Wileman tells Prog, “but then Kavus called at the last minute and said he’d been experimenting, chopping up the pieces, merging them even more and adding found sounds to…
