“The first time I heard Meshuggah, I wasn’t into it; it scared me. They were one of the first bands I heard that had screaming, but I liked it because they were singing it, too. I was always in that frame of mind that if it doesn’t have singing then I don’t like it and then I heard Meshuggah. And I was like, ‘You know what? This is fine!’ I remember it was the riff for Stengah – this was the heaviest, most exciting, groovy thing that I could possibly imagine. I’ve seen them twice.
