En el limbo, la restauración del “Apocalipsis” de Orozco

Termina con 2022 el centenario del muralismo, el movimiento más representativo del arte mexicano a nivel internacional, y la creación monumental de José Clemente Orozco, Apocalipsis, sigue sin ser restaurada, pese a que han transcurrido ya cinco años desde que la afectó el sismo del 19 de septiembre de 2017. Se trata de “una de las obras murales más profundas, enigmáticas e indudablemente contemporánea”, describió en estas páginas la crítica de arte Raquel Tibol en febrero de 2012, cuando el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA) iniciaría trabajos de restauración en los frescos ubicados en el templo Jesús Nazareno, en el Centro Histórico (Proceso, 1843). Resaltan varios elementos para calificarla así, entre ellos la talla del artista nacido el 23 de noviembre de 1883 en Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, y fallecido…
