Neil Guest began his motorcycling adventure in 2005. “I did my Direct Access with Camrider in Cambridge. I was 29 when I passed my test. I reckoned that if I did it before I was 30, I couldn’t be accused of learning to ride because of some sort of mid-life crisis. So having acquired my full licence, I researched what might be a good choice for my first big bike,” says the Cambridgeshire-based optician. “I read a load of magazine articles and reviews. Knowing that I wanted to use the bike for year-round commuting as well as pleasure riding, I needed something with decent performance and good build quality. Everything pointed to the Honda CBR600.” The now defunct Cambridge dealer, Hallens had this 2001 Honda CBR600F-Y for sale at £3200.…
