When the milk run is magical Iwas in the Slater Brothers’ Laverda shop (PS, March, 2023) in Herefordshire one Saturday afternoon having a longing look at what was for sale when a bloke on a 500 Montjuic turns up. He comes in the shop. Richard Slater says, “Hello, how are you?” “Fine, thanks,” says the bloke. “Can I use your phone, please?” he asks. “I’ve got to call the wife and let her know I’m OK, I only popped out for some milk.” “Help yourself,” says Richard. Bloke picks up the phone and starts dialling. I look at Richard who says to me, “The bloke lives in Essex somewhere.” And I’ve wanted a Montjuic ever since.
