STEP BY STEP My No2 boat is a Portabote, and I love its versatility. However, one limitation is its bow cover, which does not provide a lifting, stepping or painter attachment – so I set about producing an alternative. The challenge here was to achieve a reasonable pattern from the rather diffcult shape of the open bow. I quickly decided that a timber unit would be too diffcult, so GRP seemed the solution if I could make a suitable former.
