After retirement, I decided I needed a yacht to keep me busy. I wanted a motorsailer, the 4x4s of the sailing world, and saw a Fisher 25 advertised for sale in the Channel Islands. It was just what I wanted and very reasonably priced. The photos on the internet showed a tired but sound boat so I bought it sight unseen, accepting that I would have to do a lot of work on the hull to restore it to good condition. I subsequently visited Guernsey’s Beaucette Marina to see the boat, which I renamed Daisy Duck, and arranged for a surveyor to inspect it.
