Pinned to chain ferry

The Marine Accident Investigation Branch has been notified after a 24ft Shrimper became stuck under the prow of the Sandbanks chain ferry in Poole Harbour. HM Coastguard was contacted just after 3.30pm on 21 June. The two people on board the yacht were uninjured. The crew of the Poole RNLI lifeboat found the staves of the mast snagged onto the ferry’s ramp and the tide was also pushing the vessel against the ferry’s prow. They eventually towed the yacht to safety.…
