Occasionally it seems to be a quick fix to give a cranky preschooler a digital device. However, recent research suggests that this relaxing technique may be related to future behavioural issues that are even more severe.
Frequent use of devices like smartphones and tablets to calm children aged 3 to 5 was associated with increased emotional dysregulation in children, according to a Michigan Medicine study in JAMA Paediatrics.
