Knowledge is power when it comes to preparing for that private check ride.

While I have spent most of my career in the publishing industry and been in love with airplanes since age 9, I can feel self-conscious writing to an audience of knowledgeable, experienced aviators and enthusiasts. It feels unlikely to me that I will tell you anything you don’t already know. And what I don’t know could fill volumes. As I write this, I’m preparing for my private check ride and spending time trying to know things—my head is full of acronyms from MCPRAWN to ATOMATOFLAMES, and it feels like the bulk of the information that isn’t a jumble slides out again the moment I absorb it.
