Jim Richmond’s legacy lives on in more ways than his popular tube-and-fabric taildraggers

“My dad’s legacy is more than just the planes he designed or the company he built,” said Jim Richmond’s daughter, Piper Richmond. “His love for the backcountry drove him to push and inspire others to experience the raw beauty of the backcountry for themselves.” Richmond, the late founding father of CubCrafters, started out rebuilding Piper PA-18 Super Cubs in the 1980s.
