Pieces de Rameau, Ravel & Alkan DG Pour son premier récital de studio, Bruce Liu – Canadien d’origine chinoise, élève de Dang Thai Son et vainqueur du Concours Chopin de Varsovie en 2021 – cultive le goût du fantasque en mettant en miroir, non sans malice, Rameau, Ravel et Alkan. Dans les plus célèbres pages du premier (Les Cyclopes, La Poule, Les Sauvages), fort d’un toucher cristallin, d’une dynamique d’une absolue clarté et d’une articulation aérienne, il associe inventivité et goût de la fantaisie. Mais au service d’un style qui ne renonce pas à quelques manières, notamment rythmiques, et s’avère donc moins pur que celui de Vikingur Olafsson (DG, 2020).
