Barbara nous a quittés il y a vingt-cinq ans. Accordéoniste, pianiste, compositeur, arrangeur, Roland Romanelli a collaboré pendant vingt ans avec la chanteuse. Il nous raconte.

COMMENT ÊTES-VOUS DEVENU ACCORDÉONISTE ET PIANISTE? Au départ, je suis accordéoniste. J’ai commencé à l’âge de 10 ans. Dans mon adolescence, j’adorais Barbara, Brel. Je ne voulais pas faire de bal, de gala comme on disait à l’époque mais accompagner des artistes. J’ai eu la chance que Barbara se sépare de son accordéoniste Joss Baselli. Elle m’a « cherché dans tout Paris » comme elle disait et j’ai travaillé avec elle. J’ai appris le piano à l’âge de 27ans. Je ne me considère pas comme un pianiste mais comme un musicien passionné. J’ai trop de respect pour les concertistes qui sont devenus des grands artistes du piano. QUE VOUS A APPORTÉ VOTRE COLLABORATION AVEC BARBARA? Barbara, c’était mon rêve.
