The PA2100cwx delivers gorgeous text and decent graphics, but it’s not perfect

PRICE £252 (£303 inc VAT) from printerbase.co.uk Spend £250 on a colour laser printer and you expect a step up from the entry level. In most ways, Kyocera’s Ecosys PA2100cwx obliges. It’s a classy-looking device made from sharply contrasted white and black plastics – about as tasteful as printer design gets. On its top there’s a backlit two-line LCD display and a smattering of buttons, but its best features are hidden away. Inside, there’s a 250-sheet paper tray, automatic duplex (double-sided) printing, wireless networking and a Gigabit Ethernet port. One of the first things we discovered about this printer was that we hated its control panel. Its display is clear and the buttons are laid out sensibly, but the menu system is finickity and annoying. Use it occasionally and you’ll find yourself confused…
