This seventh generation sparks interest as it introduces LPCAMM2 memory. Standing for low power compression attached memory modules, they’re smaller than SODIMMs so can fit into tight spaces, which avoids the need for integrating memory onto boards. It’s also fast. Lenovo uses memory rated at 7,467MT/sec, or megatransfers per second; a better measure of memory speed than megahertz. You can replace the P1’s LPCAMM2 module yourself, up to a maximum of 64GB, but the supplied 32GB is respectable.
