Blood-pressure monitoring marks this smartwatch out from the crowd, but it’s bulky as a result

PRICE £292 (£350 inc VAT) from consumer.huawei.com/uk Huawei introduced the concept of smartwatch blood-pressure monitoring with the Watch D back in 2022, but this was a quiet, limited release. With the D2, it’s going mainstream. The idea remains the same: it delivers ambulatory blood-pressure monitoring (ABPM) through a 26.5mm airbag attached to the inside of the watch strap. This inflates quickly and easily, capturing this vital health metric whether you’re working, exercising, relaxing or sleeping. You can even create a 24-hour auto-monitoring plan to check trends across day and night, but prepare to be rudely awoken. The obvious question is how accurate it is.
