We asked Jon to give his very personal view on what to say to people who are still relying on Windows 10 for business or home use

If you work in the IT industry, I suspect you will have heard the adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” more than once in your career. While it sometimes holds true, it fails when things start gathering a layer of dust. By this time, you have little or no idea how to fix things when they go wrong. Windows 10 going out of support is a big deal, if only because there’s a lot of perfectly usable hardware out there that can’t be moved to Windows 11. And while this might seem “skipware”, it raises the question of what to do.
