Technology has been saving us time and supposedly making the world better for decades, so how come it takes so long to book a GP appointment?

@njkobie Remember life before the internet? Looking something up meant dusting off an encyclopedia or heading to the library. Talking to friends required a phone or meeting them in person. Wild times. The rise of the internet promised perfect information: we’d never be wrong again. We’d be flooded with facts, be it the name of a football player for a pub quiz, a politician’s voting record or a restaurant’s opening time. All of that information is readily available. But instead of growing into well-educated, well-informed citizens, we’re as stupid as ever – perhaps, given the rise of conspiracy theories, even stupider. The rise of misinformation and disinformation means the data available online can’t be trusted, and we’re far too set in our ways to seek out facts that disagree with…
