If Android meets your working needs, this rugged tablet is great value and surprisingly versatile

SCORE PRICE £424 (£509 inc VAT) from samsung.com It turns out that “tablet” isn’t a great word in terms of precise description. The Galaxy Active5 5G tablet has more differences than similarities to either of the two other tablets we review this month – the Lenovo Tab P12 Pro (see p64) and the Panasonic Toughbook 33 MK3 opposite. If anything, this compact 8in device has more in common with a phone, including support for 5G and a slim design. But this is no consumer device. It’s a rugged tablet designed for hard knocks, with the promise of drop protection from 1.8m in the bundled case, an IP68 rating against dust and water ingress, and Samsung even claims that it has been tested to meet MIL-STD-810 standards – including altitude, humidity and vibration.
