AFFINITY PHOTO ALTERNATIVES

If you’re looking for something even cheaper than Affinity Photo, Photopea is a great free online image-editing suite – find it at photopea.com, and see issue 364 for our guide. Alternatively, there’s always the open-source GIMP (gimp.org); as well as supporting Windows and macOS, GIMP runs on Linux and includes full support for layers and adjustments. However, the GIMP’s user interface takes some getting used to, and it lacks a dedicated raw image-editing module like the Develop Persona found in Affinity Photo. Corel’s PaintShop Pro (paintshoppro.com) is another paid-for tool that works similarly to Affinity Photo. It’s also sold as a perpetual licence, with features including raw image editing and focus stacking to increase depth of field.
