C’est l’événement de la rentrée. Le retour à Paris de 130 toiles qui en sont parties avant la guerre de 14-18. Entre autres, des Monet, Cézanne, Gauguin, Matisse ou Picasso, réunis par un petit homme au physique insignifiant, surnommé le « porc-épic », devenu un grand de l’histoire de l’art. En six ans, cet industriel que la vie n’a pas épargné a ainsi réuni 257 chefs-d’œuvre majeurs de l’art français. Une collection nationalisée par Lénine, puis répartie dans les deux plus grands musées de l’ère soviétique, avant d’être interdite d’exposition par le régime stalinien. Chtchoukine, lui, connut l’exil mais dans le Paris de son cœur. Du 22octobre au 20 février, la Fondation Vuitton nous fait partager son rêve.
