This pattern can be worked in a multitude of ways. I have given instructions for just two. There are options for using both traditional methods or let your imagination run free and be amazed by what you can produce. Most of all enjoy.

Colouring Petals: Secure a piece of plain parchment on to the pattern. Work on the sweetpea image as follows – do not trace the pattern first: Using white and a small circular motion place a base layer on all flower heads and buds. Using cream and a small circular motion place a base layer on all leaves, stems and calyx (step 1). Using rose carmine – again small circular motions but ensuring that the top edge of each petal is sharp colour as in step 2. With medium flesh – this time in stokes pulling colour from the top edge of the petalgooverall of the rose carmine and extend the colour to cover the top half of each petal.
