I Shovels t's hard to imagine a shovel company starting in the middle of the ocean, but that's where the roots of DMOS Collective started to grow. Susan Pieper, founder of DMOS, has always been an adventurer. She spent weeks on the ocean in the ‘90s learning to plan, navigate, and survive. This sense of adventure and set of skills led her to Wyoming, where after spending years in the corporate world she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of owning her own company. The idea for DMOS came around when Pieper's son started using hardware store shovels to build ski and snowboard kicker jumps in the backcountry.
